The Baha'i International Community is seeking hospitality for one or two weeks beginning Saturday, February 24, 2007 for two of its delegates to the United Nations 51 st Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). The delegates will need to stay together as one is an adult and the other a young girl. They will be representing their National Assembly at the CSW and will be from either India or Tanzania . If you are interested in exploring the possibility of hosting two BIC delegates during the CSW, please contact Dorothy Longo at dlongo@bic.org or 212-803-2518.

Cemetery and burial InformationThe New York City Baha’í Community has established a Baha’í Cemetery at the Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley. Please read the Fact Sheet for more information. Also Importance of Informing Family Members of Final Arrangements is a useful guide for planning burial arrangements. Expense/Reimbursement ReportDo you spend money on food or flowers for Feasts, devotional gatherings or other events? If so please fill out a expense report so that your contributions can count as a contribution to the fund! This form also serves as a reimbursement report for committee or Assembly expenses that have been approved by the Assembly prior to the expenditure.
Feast and Holy day SchedulePlease be aware that Brooklyn and Queens usually hold their feasts on the same night as the Center Feast, and Bronx is usually the Saturday afternoon following the Center Feast.
Fund Contributions!You can sign up to make automatic contributions to the local fund using your credit card. Print out the Automatic Contribution System Form, fill out the information and drop it off at the Baha’í Center office or send it to the Office of the Treasurer at 53 East 11th Street, New York, NY 10003. Print it out back-to-back and fold it into three sections. If you want tot tell your friends about the many wonderful events happening here, print out the Public Announcement Invitation which lists upcoming public events in the NYC Baha’í community. You can also print out listings of the various firesides and devotional gatherings in the following sectors (boroughs).
Work Suspended Letter for Holy dayThere are nine Baha’í Holy Days on which work should be suspended and children should not attend school. Hosting a Feast!Are you planning to host a Feast in your neighborhood? Then check out the LSA Guidance To the Feast Host and print out a Feast Report. Use the Feast Report to record the attendance, and upcoming neighborhood feasts and to communicate the feast suggestions to the Assembly. Then simply send it to the Baha’í Center along with the fund contributions that were collected at your neighborhood feast.Would you like some ideas for what to include in the devotional portion of the Feast? The Assembly takes all feast suggestions into consideration when consulting about issues affecting the community. It also attempts to respond in writing to as many feast suggestions as possible. Here are the Assembly’s written responses to Feast Suggestions over the last year. Here are the most recent responses to Feast suggestions.So what is a cluster? And how are we, New York City doing in the 5-Year Plan? What are New York City’s goals in the 5-Year Plan? If you have questions like these or you lost your copy of the NYC Five-Year Plan (Jan 12, 2002), you have come to the right place.The overall aim of the Five Year Plan is to prepare NYC to receive a large influx of new believers. We invite you to view this informative presentation (Power Point format) created by the Auxilliary Board Members on the 5-Year Plan, entitled Growth.
The Auxilliary Board Members will answer all your questions about Clusters. In addition they have created a Cluster Information Package that includes an outline of all the important aspects of the 5-year plan.
