N.B. This version includes a renumbering (first featured in the May ’01 version) for all the major religions other than Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and the Bahá’í Faith. The Manual notes section has been extended to complete its coverage of the important differences between DD21 practice and that recommended here; parts of the introduction have been re-written; one or two headings have been added to the index; and some minor errors and ambiguities have been corrected. As a concession the sensibilities of some Christians – the use of "666" has been avoided by a change in the numbering for "economic systems".Copies of all previous versions should be destroyed to avoid confusion.
This version is complete and more or less finalised, except for the table of equivalent numbers at the back; this is still under preparation (using other software) and the pages of the table appearing here are included mainly to give an idea of the eventual intended layout. This table, when complete, will probably cover about 20 pages, but its completion is really only an issue for libraries that need to convert large quantities of old (Dewey) work to the new schedule.
