History of the BIRCF Project

In early October 1994 there was a discussion on the Bahá'í-Discuss mailing list that lead to the formation of a small group of Bahá'ís that wanted to have Bahá'í firesides on IRC. The group was headed by Dominic Burton (dburton@tyrell.net)

In mid October Justin Nevill (jinevill@Bounty.BCCA.Org) posted a message to the Bahá'í-Announce mailing list asking for help in starting Bahá'í Firesides on IRC. Justin was unaware of the current IRC fireside effort headed by Dominic. Justin got a lot of response to his post, including notification of the project already underway.

On October 17th Dominic was no longer able to head up the Project, after a ytalk discussion with Justin, the two decided that Justin would now head up the Project. Dominic has stayed active in the BIRCF project and Justin is still the primary coordinator.
