Dear Friends,
Regarding the query for the list of 100 books that Baha'u'llah
Has written, allow me a couple of thoughts.
Baha'u'llah in the "Epistle to the Son of the Wolf" mentions that
His writings exceed 100 volumes. This does not mean that He
wrote 100+ books, but rather if all His writings were compiled it
would be over 100 volumes. Actually, today we have over 15,600
distinct items of His writings at the Archives of the World
Centre. Each of these works are of varying length. For example,
Kitab-i-Badi` is among Baha'u'llah's longest works, and is about
3 times the length of the Kitab-i-Iqan. Many of these other
15,600 works are much shorter Tablets addressed to individuals.
Were all of these works of Baha'u'llah be put together, (and some
day this will be done!), it would indeed produce the dazzling
magnitude of 100+ volumes -- each a few hundred pages long.
Also, keep in mind that close the same amount that we have
available of His writings, if not more, were actually destroyed
in accordance with His instruction during His own life time. In
other words, the actual dimension of His writings was well over a
couple of hundred volumes.
The beloved Guardian has complied a wonderful list of
"Baha'u'llah's best known works", which are repeatedly printed in
the volumes of "The Baha'i World". This list, if I recall
correctly, has about 153 major works of the Blessed Perfection.
I would start with that list first. You may find in Taherzadeh's
4 volumes of "The Revelation of Baha'u'llah" a few more items to
add to this list -- but not too many more items.
Not long ago, I did a statistical evaluation of the writings of
Baha'u'llah and found out that only about 9% (nine percent) have
now been translated into English. So, we have long ways to go.
Or as we say in Persian, this sweetness is just a taste!!
How glorious is this Cause!!
much love, ahang.
