In article <1995Jan29.003805.24247@cs.cornell.edu>, viswan@buphy.bu.edu (Gandhimohan Viswanathan [or just Gandhi]) writes:

|> The members of the Universal House of Justice are elected by the members
|> of the National Spiritual Assemblies of the various Baha'i communities.
|> No propaganda, electioneering, or nominations are allowed. All male
|> Baha'i adults in good standing over 21 are eligible to become members.

Pardon me? Did I misread this?
Can it be that women are excluded from the Universal House of Justice?

Please, I would greatly appreciate someone explaining this statement in
a way that does not make it sound as though it stands in blatant contradiction
to what I thought the Bahai Faith was about.

Thank you for your attention,

Alex
