You did not finish the quotation from Baha'u'llah. A few sentences later,
He says, "Whosoever interpreteth this verse otherwise than its obvious
meaning is deprived of the Spirit of God and of His mercy which
encompasseth all created things. Fear God, and follow not your idle
fancies. Nay, rather follow the bidding of your Lord, the Almighty,
the All-Wise."
It seems this particular verse of God which you quote is intended to be
taken literally, not figuratively. Your interpretation, while
interesting, does not seem to be the *obvious* meaning of the verse.
