Dear Mike,

Though I do not know the official view of the Bahai Faith on Mirza
Ghulam, I would offer an answer based on our view of persons such as Lao
Tzu and John Smith. In "Lights of Guidence" they are viewed as reformers
and/or persons sensitve to the spiritual climate (so to speak) of the
time. Forgive my ignorance about Mirza Ghulam, but it would appear that
he is such a reformer. From what I have gleaned from Mr. Virk's
postings his group appears to be a sect of Islam and not a separate
religion such as the Faith. As to his claim that he is a manifestation
of God, Baha'u'llah has made it quit clear that there will not be another
for at least one thousand years...somewhere around 2990 AD.

Please note that this answer is tentative as I am ignorant about the
official view of the Universal House of Justice. Also, please forgive my
ignorance concerning Mirza Ghulam in case I have made any mistakes
regarding him or in interpreting Mr. Virk's postings.

Hope this helps though.

May God be with you in your search for spirituality.
