International Relief Organizations

I am inquiring about the officail Bahai viewpoint on such organizations
as Amnesty International. More specificaly I am interested to know if
Bahais are discouraged or even forbidden to join such groups. I am
asking because I have heard that they were.
Are they? And if so why?

Would appreciate any and all replies, personal or in this forum.
