I would add to those in the list two, IMHO, stronger explanations, that
justify not having ANY amount of alcohol:

1) If we are to become examples to future generations, the
simple fact of GIVING THE EXAMPLE of drinking alcohol is bad for kids,
and fatal for those who's 'moderate' drinking will eventually become
alcoholism due to hereditary, or other, natural tendencies. On the
other hand, we could use the money/time/sociability of alcohol to
achieve the same, or greater, levels of individual and collective
happiness, with less damage to our most vital organ: the brain (see
below...). The best example is the unrelenting one, and what moral
stature would you have asking others, especially your children, not to
drink (in whatever setting), if you yourself don't abstain?

2) It is proved that alcohol kills brain cells, and it is also
scientifically proved that neurons do not regenerate: therefore, no
matter the quantity of alcohol you drink, there will always be a neuron
a 1/1000th the size of the drop you drunk that will fall a victim to it,
and you'll never recover it. The effects of "moderate" drinking were
not scientifically diagnosed as of yet, but, in my opinion, they will,
by the two biological principles above, leave your brain, which is your
bridge to your spirit, at best an "unmeasurable" amount less "capable".

Most respectfully and sincerely,

Marc
